One type of new media that I want to see and believe will become a thing in the future is the use of virtual reality. Similar to something you would see out of Star Wars, virtual reality will let you communicate with people in real time while also seeing a projected hologram of their body. This will enhance communication with others because we would be able to see people's facial expressions and body language. At the moment, online communication involves written words or video calls. We cannot see people's facial expression or body language and this can sometimes lead to misinterpretations of people's words. With virtual reality, this communication will be taken to the next level because we will be able to physically interact with others. It would almost be like talking to someone in person while also being able to communicate with anyone around the world. If implemented properly, this would be useful to companies and people everywhere and could become a norm for communication.
I definitely agree with your recommendation and it will be a fun new way to communicate.
ReplyDeleteVR communication is a definite exciting thing to look out for. In general, text communication can be read in a number of ways and subtle nuances are lost in translation. I wonder how something like this can be misused, maybe people stay in more?
ReplyDeleteAnim, I think your idea of communicating with others and projection a hologram is a cool idea. It will definitely enhance communication with others. When many communicate with others, they tend to act different since there is a screen in between both people. However, I wonder how much a device like this can possible cost.
