Livestreaming: The future of media consumption?

For my project, I chose to look at livestreaming and posed the question: Is it the future of media consumption? In other words, I would like to analyze both the positives and negatives of livestreaming through platforms such as Twitch.tv and Youtube.com. Some positives of livestreaming that I came up with include: a sense of community through direct interaction, easy form of entertainment, source of significant income for popular streamers, and a source of education. Livestreaming is a way for streamers to directly interact with their audience because of the live chat feature as well as the real time engagement aspect. However, livestreaming does not come without its negatives. Some of them include: lack of privacy, hostility caused through anonymous interactions, potential controversy that can occur due to the live aspect, and potential harmful health effects on a streamer. Livestreaming means everything a streamer would do is real time and any blunders such as misspeaking would be uneditable and potentially consequential. After analyzing the positives and negatives, I would like to reach a conclusion on my initial question. Is livestreaming a new and popular way for people to consume media that should be supported or is it something that is a fad and will die out?
